A Friend Who's Dressed In Leather

song of the day - Pure Morning by Placebo
1. Topshop £150. 2. Karen Millen £450. 3. Zara £159.
There's just something about a good leather jacket that I just love. Every year I try to find one to buy, but there never seems to be the right one.
The biggest issue I seem to have with finding the right leather jacket is sleeve length. I'm one of those people that like my sleeves to come down a little ways past the wrist, but I've yet to find a jacket were the sleeves even reach my wrists at all. Maybe I just have abnormally long arms.
Are you a leather jacket lover? or do you think we should leave leather for bikers?

The Nights Are getting Strange

song of the day - Since You're Gone by The Cars
After spending a lot of money (it actually makes me want to cry a little) in the past few weeks I've put myself on a very restrictive budget for the rest of the month. I can pretty much only afford food and my bus fare to work. This means I'm living vicariously through other bloggers, and adding items to my ever growing wish list. For this post I'm focusing on my 'Footwear Wishlist'.

It is my belief that you can never own too many pairs of black boots, and I'm forever lusting after a new pair. I've picked out a few today. The first is very affordable, whereas I can only dream about even touching the second pair, and the third are in between.

(1) New Look always seem to have such nice footwear on their website. I can never find what I'm looking for in-store though, and I don't like to buy shoes without trying them on first. I'm hoping to find these bad boys next month though, when I have money again. I love all the straps and buckles.

(2) This gorgeous (but very expensive) pair of wedge ankle boots is by Giuseppe Zanotti (hello Moira Isles). At £805 I'll never be able to afford them (at least not while I want to pay for food), but they are so pretty to stare at. The cracked leather texture and wedge heel just makes me so happy, the price tag not so much.

I feel like this may be the year that I actually take the plunge and buy a pair of (3) Dr Martens. What better first pair than something with a nice design on them.

(4) I'm a sucker for a nice wedge heel, and although I'm not a fan of a peep-toe I do like these from Zara.

This year I'm also thinking about going for a new pair of trainers. I haven't bought new trainers in around 6 years, so it's definitely time for it. (5) My brother bought some New Balance's for himself in the sales, and if I'd fit into them I would probably try to slyly take them from him.

Have you been lusting after any shoes recently? Or do you like/own any of the above?

It made everything clearer

song of the day - I'm Slowly Turning Into You by The White Stripes

  1. The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx & Friedrich Engles
  2. The Shock of New by Robert Hughes
  3. The Mathematical Theory of Communication by CE Shannon & Warren Weaver
  4. History and Theory in Anthropology by Alan Barnard
  5. The Politics of Display edited by Sharon Macdonald
  6. Creative Display by Geraldine James

I love books. There's no way around it. If it was a choice between a stack of books or a suitcase full of clothing from my favourite brand, I would go for the books. Although I am better at not buying books, probably because I just add them to my amazon wishlist. That primark dress might be gone next week, but the book will still be online.
