Tomorrow's much too long

song of the day - Today by Smashing Pumpkins
With the boxing day just around the corner I thought I'd show you some of my favourite beauty picks that you should look out for in the sale (or you could buy now as last minute gifts). Beauty gift sets are always a favourite of mine, and it's even better when they get discounted post-Christmas.
First up we have the Stila Eternally Yours Liquid Lipstick set. I'd never tried Stila before, but I quickly fell in love with these. The red shade (Fiery) has to be my favourite, I've been wearing it none-stop for weeks now.
Another set is this one from Bite Beauty. I love the Bite lip crayons, and this set is great for trying them out. I just wish you could get this brand in England, thankfully Sephora has international shipping.
Now, this isn't really a set, but it's is a Christmas themed item. It's the This Works Sleep Plus+ cracker. I've heard a lot about This Works over the years, all of it good. The Sleep Plus+ is something that you spray on your pillow at night, and it's supposed to be a natural remedy for broken sleep.

What will you be looking out for in the sales?

Take Me On

song of the day - Take On Me by A-Ha.
For years I've heard about NYX products through various youtubers and bloggers, but it's been so hard to get hold of in the uk. For a while NYX was stocked in Next, but not one local to me, and I didn't want to just buy from the NYX website. A few weeks ago NYX launched in Boots, and I was so excited!
As soon as I heard the news I was planning a visit. All the lip products wanted to come home with me, but I managed to control myself and only buy two items.
The first product I picked up was the soft matte lip cream in San Paulo, a reddish pink. It's a nice little lip creme, slightly patchy at first, but easily buildable. I will be honest, the majority of my make-up is high end, and NYX really doesn't hold up against the likes of Kat Von D or Lancome when it comes to liquid lipsticks type products. The colour payoff and lasting power isn't the greatest, but for £5.50 it's not too bad.

I also bought a lipliner in the shade BedRose. A pinkish nude, I feel like this would be a great base for most of my pink/nude lipsticks. It's smooth to apply, and the colour is gorgeous. I'll definitely be trying more of the liners from NYX.

You Know She Wrote It

song of the day - It's All About The Benjamins by Puff Daddy
With Christmas just round the corner I've barely had a chance to dress nicely and go anywhere. Seriously, working retail during Christmas is brutal.  If I'm not at work then I don't really feel like going out. T'is the season for works Christmas do's though, so I thought I'd throw an outfit together that could be worn to one.
I bought this dress over the weekend from Select, and I fell in love with is as soon as I saw it. The colour is gorgeous, and at £13.99 it's was a bargain. I always seem to buy a red dress at this time of year, this is the third year in a row I've done so. Usually they get worn on Christmas Eve when I get together with my family.

Cute Little Pussycat Nose

song of the day - What's New Pussycat by Tom Jones
This morning my friends and I braved the weather (and christmas shoppers) to visit the Rock in Bury. As in the shopping centre, not Dwayne. I didn't buy much, just the essentials (tights with Thumper on them, and a red dress).

Afterwards I photographed my friends cats, the little cuties did not want to stay still at all. I did manage to get a few good shots in though.

Today was a good day.

Well The Weather Is Cruel

song of the day - Christmas Time by Darkness
It's become apparent over the last month or so that I can't resist a nice jumper. I own a lot of jumpers already, but when the cold hits I just want to be surrounded by them. Some people dream about rolling around in a big pile of money, I dream about rolling around in a big pile of jumper.
I don't own any christmas jumpers, and have never owned one (to my recollection). That had to change this year. I found the above jumper in Primark and it is perfect. Not too tacky or over the top, it's great to show a bit of Christmas spirit.
This next jumper is also from Primark. I already have this jumper in a grey/white mix, and I knew when I bought that one that I'd probably end up getting other colours.  Hopefully I can stop after 2. They're just so cuddly and warm though, I usually wear them to work under my uniform.
Last but certainly not least is the jumper I'll be living in over Christmas. This beauty is from H&M, and a bargain at £14.99. It is honestly the warmest thing I own, and not scratchy, which I thought it would be given the sparkly bits. I was thinking about wearing this for our family Christmas meal, but it's so warm that I might just turn into a puddle while cooking.

The Skies Were Bigger

song of the day - Run Run by Those Dancing Days
sunset 6/11/15
dress & choker - H&M. card - Primark.
November is here (and has been for 2 weeks, whoops), and the weather definitely matches the month. I managed to catch a cold over the weekend at work, so instead of going to the Christmas markets today I'm staying in bed.
This outfit is from around a month ago, I've just not had time to keep up with the blogging world. That's one good thing about being ill, I can catch up with all the blog posts I haven't been able to read in the past month.

I Wish Your Friends Would Leave Me Alone

song of the day - This Is An Emergency by Pigeon Detectives
skirt & shirt - H&M
Everyone needs a little sparkle in their life sometime. I've been wanting a black sequinned skirt for about a year now, but it's taken a while for me to actually find one that fits right. This beauty caught my eye in H&M and it was lust at first sight.
Black sequinned skirts always remind me of Angel from Rent because she wears one in the "Take Me Or Leave Me" scene (and looks stunning in it).
The perfect lipstick colour to go with a sparkly skirt? Red of course. Then again red lipstick goes with pretty much everything if you can find the right shade. MAC's recent Guo Pei collection launched a few weeks ago and I managed to get Brave Red before if sold out.
Brave Red is described as a 'bright yellow red'. I wouldn't really call it bright though, it's more of a muted red on me, and thankfully it's not too yellow. It's a Creamsheen, so it's not drying and has a nice coverage.
The Guo Pei collection has the loveliest packaging in the world. The lipstick comes with kind of a sleeve in a stunning print. If you don't know who Guo Pei is, they are a fashion designer. To me she is most famous for designing Rihanna's dress for the Met Gala, y'know the big yellow one?
I believe this colour is in the permanent collection, so you can still buy it (just without the pretty packaging).

Your Web, I'm Caught

song of the day - Poison by Alice Cooper
I am so ready for Halloween. I probably won't be going out on the actual day (unless I have to work), but you bet your ghosts I'll be watching all my favourite Halloween movies. Hocus Pocus, HalloweenTown, Casper, and then at night I'll have to watch at least one Nightmare on Elm Street. Freddie was always my favourite horror movie baddie, although I do have a soft spot for old Jeepers Creepers.
I bought this necklace as part of a set from H&M last week and I love it. Spiders terrify me (we'll ignore this from a few days ago), but I do love a good spiders web.

She Woke Up Late

song of the day - All That She Wants - Kooks
jumper & skirt - Primark
Autumn has hit, and now it's time for thick jumpers and knee high socks. The leaves are changing and the weathers turning. I'm so excited for Halloween, and Christmas shopping. The only thing I'm not excited about is the clocks changing at the end of the month. An extra hour in bed? Fab. The sun going down at 4pm? Not so great.

I really need to get my jumpers out and washed, but to tide me over until then I've bought this cute roll neck from Primark. I was tempted to buy it in multiple colours, but I stayed strong and only purchased the one. Now if I happen to go back to Primani and see them again, well...

My Favourite Part Of Me

song of the day - Ugly Side by Blue October
How about a last hoorah to Summer and sunshine and warmth! I managed to nab this cute dress for £7 last week in the New Look sale. I'd fallen in love with it pre-sale, but managed to stay away from it. When I saw it on the rail though, and in my size, I just had to have it.
Now that it's getting colder I'll be sure to wear this little number with knee highs and a blouse, or tights and a cuddly jumper. Totally getting my moneys worth.
Have you found anything in the sales this time round?
dress - New Look.

You Know What It Means To Me

song of the day - Respect by Aretha Franklin
 dress - Villa
Every so often I'll pull something out of my wardrobe that I haven't worn in years, and give it a spin. I bought this cute little number in 2013, and haven't worn it since that year.

Simple Things

song of the day - My Paper Heart by All American Rejects
Some days I do just look like I've rolled out of bed and put on the first clean thing I've found. Probably because that's exactly what I do half the time.

The City Where Anything Is Possible

song of the day - City of Dreams by Travis Barker
Another day off, another mooch around Manchester with my camera (as well as a cheeky Nando's trip). We actually lucked out and managed to avoid the rain that's plagued the north-west for the last few days.
The Printworks is such a cool place to walk through, I just love the look of the place.
Camera - Canon 550D.
Lens - Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II
