The Women Keep The Tempo

song of the day - Upgrade U by Beyonce ft Jay Z
I thought as this would be my last blog post of the year, I'd finish off with an outfit similar to my first of 2014. I do love this dress, but it isn't often that I wear it. The wool tends to pull and get caught very easily, so it's a bit of a faff to wear.

I'm hoping to get a 2014 round up post done this weekend when I have a few days off from work.  Until then, I'd like to wish you all a happy new year! Lets make 2015 a good one!

Have A Happy Holiday

song of the day - Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee
This year we did Christmas a little differently by celebrating at my brothers house. I was also ill with the flu and a chest infection (which I'm hoping will be gone soon), so I didn't feel upto taking that many photographs. Here are a few that I managed.
The Christmas crackers had these wind up reindeer in them, and after eating my family raced them. My oldest brother somehow managed to win.
One of the bros decided to take my camera off me to take this picture. You might be able to tell from me being slightly hunched over, and that I hadn't even done my hair, that I wasn't feeling my best.

Santa Baby, Just Hurry Down The Chimney To Me

song of the day - Santa Baby by Kylie Minogue
This is something I have said multiple times, but I cannot wait for Christmas. To get fully in the mood I thought I'd do the Christmas tag. This tag has been floating around for a while now, so here we go!

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
The Muppets Christmas Carol, hands down. I love it so much! Gonzo and Rizzo are just perfection. "Oh, there goes Mr Humbug, there goes Mr Grim...". Then of course there's Home Alone, and Jingle All The Way.
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas Eve, we (and by 'we' I mean my family and I) eat around 5/6, then after that we'll hand out the gifts and open them. We do our main meal on Christmas Eve too.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Not really. I remember one year when my Grandma got one of mine and my brothers presents mixed up and so he got my tights and I got his socks.
4. Favourite festive food?
Poppyseed cake. I love the stuff, but my Grandad would only make it for Christmas, so I'd look forward to it for all of December, then finally after our main meal I could have some.
5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I don't think I have one. As a child I loved a little kitchen that I got. I remember playing with it all the time, and using salt and pepper as pretend food in the pots.
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Does 'warmth' count?  Like, after you've been out all day, and you get inside and that heat immediately hits you, and the air kind of smells 'warm'.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
As I mentioned above we celebrate on Christmas Eve rather than on the day itself, so I guess that's kind of a tradition.
8. What tops your tree?
For the last few years a Star.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I honestly don't know. I can't remember ever asking for a Christmas gift, or wanting something really badly. I probably did, but nothing stands out.
10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
The three Fs. Food, family, and friends.

Have you done the tag? Do let me know by leaving a comment below!

Your Attitude Determines Your Latitude

song of the day - Brand New by Kanye West
 necklace - Beaverbrooks
Christmas could not come sooner. It feels like these past few months have been dragging for me and I can't wait for it to be 2015. So much has changed over the past 11 months, and hopefully the good times keep on coming.
cardi & blouse - Zara. skirt & leggings - Primark. boots - Bertie
I love wearing white blouses, but sometimes they make me feel like I'm back at school. I was at the dentists a few weeks ago and one of the other people waiting for a checkup actually thought I was still in secondary school, I just laughed it off and said "No Love, I'm off to work after this".
There's a thin line between 'mature' and 'school girl' when it comes to white shirts and black trousers.

I Know You Care

song of the day - 7/11 by Beyonce
My favourite recent purchase has to be this scarf from Primark. It was only £4, and it's so thick and warm. With the weather turning colder I won't be leaving the house without it.
dress - Zara. scarf & tights - Primark. bracelet - Accessorize.
I had the sun setting behind me in this last photo, so it's not the best quality. Sorry about that, but I wanted to show a full length photo of the outfit.

Let's Take It Back To The Vintage

song of the day - Berzerk by Eminem
Oh I've had a busy month. On the 4th I started a new job (still in retail), and it's knackered me. It's no excuse for being so absent from the blogging world though. I've missed taking photos, but recently I've either been at work, or living in pyjamas. Hopefully I'll have a day off on Sunday so that I can catch up with some of my favourite blogs.
Today I went out with a friend for the first time in what felt like years, in reality it was around a month. It was bliss to be out of work clothes.
top - Zara, cami & leggings - H&M. skirt - Primark. boots - Bertie.
How have you all been? Have I missed anything big in the blogging world (other than fashion week)?

Everybody Needs Somebody

song of the day - November Rain by Guns n Roses
*picture heavy post*
Last week I went to a family friends wedding, and it was absolutely gorgeous (although very loud). I thought I'd share a few of my unedited photos (I really need to set up photoshop on my new laptop).

A World Of Pure Imagination

song of the day - Pure Imagination by Willy Wonka
Earlier this month Sarah from Temporary:Secretary wrote a post about the things she misses, and so I was inspired to write this one. I love looking through my old photographs, remembering people and events. My mum always took plenty of pictures when we were little. First we had film cameras, then compact digitals, and now I have my DSLR. I'm always terrified of forgetting good times, so I love having photographs to look through.
I miss going to my best friends house everyday after school just to watch tv. I miss the fact that we were best friends. We met in nursery, and stayed friends until we finished our GCSE's. She's now married with two kids, and I wish her a lifetime of love and happiness. I don't talk to many of my school friends, we've all gone in such different directions.
I walk past my old primary school at least three times a week. The school has changed so much. There's no more hopscotch painted onto the playground. The uniforms are different, and so is the name. I loved primary school. Everything was just so much easier. I know that I'm still young, but I just feel so old.
It's not just photographs that get me feeling nostalgic; it's the items I find while clearing out my room, or the things I see on TV. For example, whenever I think about Tom & Jerry it reminds me of my dad. It was the one tv shows that I remember him watching with me when he'd get in from work. I will always miss the time I spent with my family when I was younger. My grandparents have all passed away now. I think without photographs I would forget what they look like as easily as I have forgotten what they sounded like.
The photo above is of me and my cousin. At that point in time I didn't have many relatives in England, just my parents, brothers, one set of grandparents, my uncle and his family. I loved hanging around with my cousin; she was more of a sister to me. I have too many stories about being around her. Like the time she accidentally pushed me off of the bed while she was sleeping, or 'letting me' play with her makeup. She got married when I was around eight, and now I barely see her once a year.
For the past few years I've been volunteering in a children's charity shop. When I'm sorting through donations I sometimes find toys that I had as a child. Each one brings a different memory of a easier time. A few weeks ago we had a castle donated in. I had that castle. I actually still have that castle. Don't ask me why, but it's in my parents living room, collecting dust. I miss how imaginative I was as a child. I could spend hours playing make believe with Cinderella's castle. I'm still creative, but the worlds I make up are a lot more realistic. More future prospects, less giants swimming in teacups.
A few things that I don't miss? Well, that's easy. Fighting with my brother over the remote control, having my mum pick out my clothes, and exams. Revision was never my strong point.

Take Me For What I Am

song of the day - Take Me Or Leave Me - RENT
For the past few weeks I've pretty much been ignoring the blogging world. There's not really a reason for this other than that I've been busy, and it's been too hot to stand around and take photos. I did go to my cousins graduation last week though, so I'll hopefully do a post soon showing you some photos from that. I currently have over 300 unread posts on my bloglovin feed, so I think I'll spend Sunday doing some catching up!
I bought a new pair of boots from Attitude Clothing, and I've fallen in love with them. They probably won't be worn too much until it gets a bit colder out, but I just had to show them a bit of love via this post.
shirt - Zara. top - Poizen Industries. trousers - New Look. boots - Funtsama. lipstick - Poisonberry by LimeCrime.
